Uh,I knew that SPEED was getting F1 taken away from them after many decades of outstanding coverage but I thought with a new track built in the U.S. now, solely for them,Formula One would at least have some access for fans would have been following the series for many more decades to see it on none premium cable/satellite access channels.
I am in the Washington D.C. area. on cable tv.
And I'm not seeing Formula One listed on ANY basic cable channels.
I know I'm probably missing something here so tell me,in your cities, what are you watching Formula One happen on now?
I already miss SPEED TV doing the F1 roadshows.
What a drag.
I'm not a fan of hacking the internet to see the races so if I'm out of luck, heck,I'll just read how the races ran out.
Go Kimi,Webber and Felipe!Hulkster too! With a shout out to the French madman Grosjean!Watch Lewis win everything this year.![]()
Well,I got my own answer.
F1 is availible only on a premium cable channel in my area.
You have to have the digital cable box to get it and probably have to pay for the channel too.
The channel curiously is NBCSP.
Which is wild to me because everything I have read says that FOXSPORTS bought up F1 broadcast rights.
Anyway,I guess I'll be using the internet streaming of the practices and just get the results from the websites.
Great luck racers and teams, make this a year to remember.
Speed has been a digital only channel on my TimeWarner cable for a while now. 512 for standard def and 1512 for HD. And, you didn't read anything about Fox buying F1 rights, because NBC out bid them months ago.
SpeedTV and this website will cease to exist in a few months.
Good riddance.
At GKR, we're here to learn. R.I.P., Giant
On my Comcast pacakge - NBC Sports is on the expanded basic package, the same package Speed is on.
Never too old to have a happy childhood!
You know, you overestimate just how much Formula One brought to the SPEED channel.
I don't think SPEED is going anywhere.
I see a new reinvigorated SPEED channel, freed up of the enormous financial and broadcast rules strains F1 put on it over the years.
I am already seeing and feeling a better vibe coming from the broadcasters at SPEED.
The Formula One part of the forum may not ever be what it was but I'd bet it will be here too.
I may miss seeing my F1 races now but hopefully,SPEEDTV can now get back to what it was long ago.
A racing broadcasting channel.
I can almost feel the relief coming from the board rooms at SPEED now that F1 is gone and they don't have to find every last penny they can to keep the rights to broadcast it for just one more year.
12 Hours of Sebring was awesome, the Daytona bike race was cool as were several other racing venues that SPEED put up over the last weekend.
So when I heard that the race started and Kimi went on a two stopper and simply drove away to a win,I thought, what did I miss?
Apparently,as has been the case with Formula One over the last few years, not too much.
The funny thing was, nobody in the U.S. broadcast that Kimi won the race more because NBC bought the rights,as a matter of fact,I saw less coverage of it after the race ended.
I guess if I hear that Kimi wins every race from now on,I'd be happy.
