NASCAR is having its first major dirt race since 1970, while we still have street parades. We have learned nothing from the failures of CART and ChampCar.
Tony Kanaan plans to participate. Only NASCAR thinks about fans.
The street races are where IndyCar makes it's money. IndyCar cannot afford to take risks right now - it must stay where it KNOWS it will make money until things improve. Don't like it? TOO BAD. That's the way things are right now. When IndyCar's in better shape financially they can try different things.
And after 2012, "Street parade" is very much an invalid term for IndyCar street circuits since only one of them failed to provide any notable action.
In short, we're stuck with "street parades" because THAT'S WHAT FANS ARE WATCHING.
In any case, if you want to discuss this further, these forums are not the palce to do it. The Speed Forums are dying out quickly. Join us here: http://w11.zetaboards.com/Motorsports_Mayhem/index/

"So the merchants arrive to see blood and vomit everywhere, us hauling corpses en masse to the graveyard, and a couple rampaging elephants. WELCOME TO ****ING BOATMURDERED. Hope you like miasma!"
